Carlton Smith established his commercial real estate company in Anchorage in 1989. With over 20 years in the industry, Carlton Smith has represented high-net worth individuals, major Alaskan Banks, the FDIC, and numerous Alaskan corporations on their commercial real estate priorities.
Raised in Haines, Alaska, Smith is a shareholder of Shee Atika, Inc., the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act corporation for Sitka, and Sealaska, the regional ANCSA corporation.
Smith served as a director of Sealaska and the Sealaska Heritage Institute, and was chief executive officer (1998-2001) of Kootznoowoo, the ANCSA corporation for Angoon. He remains a trustee of the associated Kootznoowoo Permanent Fund Settlement Trust. He is chairman.
Smith is a graduate of Stanford University, and the father of two teenage sons. He lives in Juneau, Alaska.
